Ryu Hyun-jin of the Los Angeles Dodgers is likely to return to the mound soon as he has recovered from a shoulder injury.
The Los Angeles Times reported on Tuesday that club doctor Neal ElAttrache said Ryu is in good enough shape to begin a throwing program on Wednesday.
Ryu should be able to feature in the third game against the Miami Marlins in Los Angeles next Tuesday. He started against the Colorado Rockies on April 28 but was then placed on a 15-day disabled list for the first time in his MLB career after his left shoulder became inflamed.
The Dodgers, who have struggled due to recent injuries to their starting lineup, were clearly relieved to learn that Ryu’s injury is not serious.
