Jeon Do-yeon will become the first Korean actress to serve as a jury member at Cannes this year, organizers of the prestigious film festival announced on Monday.
She is the second Korean to get the honor after director Lee Chang-dong did so in 2009.
The festival often selects its jury members among award-winning actors or recognized directors, to evaluate competitive sections.
Jeon won the best actress award in 2007 for "Secret Sunshine" directed by Lee.
Another of her films, "The Housemaid," also competed at the festival in 2010.
