People continued to flock to a temporary altar for the victims of the ferry disaster on Sunday, the 12th day since the ship sank with over 470 passengers off the southwest coast.

The altar set up at a gymnasium in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province drew over 90,000 people who wanted to mourn the victims. On Saturday, the queue stretched for 1 km.

A total of 160,000 people have visited the altar so far.

On Sunday afternoon, the altar was festooned with black ribbons rather than chrysanthemum as 100,000 chrysanthemum flowers prepared by government officials ran out.

"We were unable to get more chrysanthemum as it was weekend. We will get more in from Monday," an official said.
