Korea Lodges Complaint Over Kim Yu-na's Olympic Judges

Korea is officially contesting the judging decision at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics that cost Kim Yu-na a gold medal in the ladies singles figure skating event.

The Korea Olympic Committee and the Korea Skating Union submitted a complaint this week to the disciplinary committee of the International Skating Union.

The KSU said Wednesday it has been notified that the ISU has received the letter.

After the ISU determines whether the matter falls under its jurisdiction or that of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the relevant authority will start reviewing the case within three weeks.

Despite two clean performances from the defending Olympic champion in both her short and free programs, Kim lost her crown to Russia's Adelina Sotnikova in Sochi in February.

The result immediately sparked controversy over the fairness of the judging. The KSU and KOC announced in March that they had decided to file a complaint to the ISU.
