N.Korea Could Conduct Nuke Test 'in a Matter of Weeks'

North Korea seems close to conducting another nuclear test in the next couple of weeks, government sources here claimed Monday.

The North is believed to be capable of conducting a fresh nuclear test as soon as it fills up one of three tunnels at the test site in Punggye-ri in North Hamgyong Province.

At the western tunnel, where it conducted its second and third nuclear tests, digging work is still underway, South Korean authorities believe, but the southern tunnel is ready to be refilled.

The website 38 North run by Johns Hopkins University on Sunday said the North needs four to six weeks of preparations.
