Korea Opens Gold Trading Exchange

Korea's first gold trading market opened on Monday morning. Trading takes place between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday to Friday dealing 1 kg gold bullion of 99 percent purity.

The bars can be traded per gram. No commission will be charged on trading for the first year, a spokesman for the Korea Exchange said Sunday.

Eight brokerages and 49 traders have been licensed for trading. Investors need to open accounts with the brokerages or traders' offices.
