Prosecutors on Monday indicted a woman for blackmailing Park Yu-chun of boy band JYJ.
The 30-year-old woman found a phone Park's acquaintance had lost in the street and threatened to circulate compromising pictures and text messages saved on it unless Park paid her W100 million (US$1=W1,068).
According to police, the woman, identified only by her surname Kim, found the phone in front of a clothing store in Cheongdam-dong late last month. It was not protected by a password, and by thumbing through it she soon discovered that it belonged to Park's acquaintance.
Kim then posed as a journalist and blackmailed Park and his management agency for the payment.
