Actor Sol Kyung-gu will teach acting at Hanyang University, his alma mater, for a year.
Sol, who studied acting there in the mid-1980s, made his stage debut in 1993 by appearing in small theaters and playing minor roles.
He rose to prominence and gained recognition for his acting prowess after starring in the hugely successful movie "Peppermint Candy" in 1999.
Throughout his career he has appeared in about 30 films including hits like "Oasis," "Public Enemy" and "Silmido."
"A veteran actor like Sol will surely contribute to promoting the school and offering high-quality lectures based on his practical experience in acting," a university spokesman said.
