World No. 1 golfer Park In-bee said she will tie the knot in September after the Evian Championship, the final major of the season on the U.S. LPGA Tour. She got engaged to her swing coach Nam Ki-hyeob in 2011.
"I originally planned to get married after finishing the entire 2014 season, but now I've decided to do it before the weather turns cold," she said.
Park was speaking at a press conference after she claimed her first title of this season at the Ladies European Tour's World Ladies Championship on Sunday. The tournament was held at Mission Hills in Hainan, China.
The Evian Championship will take place in France from Sept. 11 to 14. Park plans to get hitched at a golf club and is considering honeymooning in the Maldives.
She will be awarded the Maengho Medal, a second-level Order of Sports Merit, in recognition of her outstanding sporting achievement at the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History in Seoul on Tuesday.
