Park In-bee Picks Up First Win on European Tour in China

World No. 1 Park In-bee claimed her first title of the season over the weekend by edging ahead of Norway's Suzanne Petersen.

Park closed with a 24-under 268 after four rounds at the Mission Hills World Ladies Championship at the club's Blackstone Course in Hainan, China.

Park and Petersen shared first place going into the final round but the Norwegian finished the tournament at 19-under, five strokes behind Park.

Park earned 54,470 euros in prize money for her victory, which comes nine months after the U.S. Women's Open last July.

She underwent five weeks of intensive training early this year on Australia's Gold Coast. Under the direction of a professional physical trainer, she improved her condition by shedding 2.5 kg while also adding muscle mass.

With the latest win, Park has widened the gap with world No. 2 Petersen. It was her 14th career win and 1st title on the European tour following nine wins on the U.S. LPGA Tour and four wins on the Japanese tour.
