Girl band 2NE1's second full-length album "Crush" ranked 61th on the Billboard 200 on Thursday, the highest slot ever achieved by a Korean artist or group on the main U.S. album chart.
It was released last month.
The previous record was set by Taetiseo, a subunit group of Girls' Generation comprising Tae-yeon, Tiffany and Seo-hyun, who saw their album "Twinkle" placed 126th in 2012.
Girls' Generation's new album "Mr. Mr." ranked 110th on the latest Billboard album chart.
In terms of singles, Psy's "Gangnam Style" has been the most successful in the U.S. as it climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2012.
