Apple unveiled a wireless system for automobiles on Monday that enables drivers to listen to music, navigate roads, listen to messages and manipulate other functions behind the wheel.
CarPlay allows drivers to access data without having to look at their phones or glance at their dashboard monitors. The system works through Apple's Siri voice-recognition software by hooking up the iPhone to the dashboard system.
Drivers can activate their satellite navigation simply by saying where they want to go to, have text messages on their phones read out to them, or dictate messages to be sent.
Apple is putting CarPlay in Ferraris, Mercedes and Volvos being showcased at the Geneva Motor Show that starts Thursday.
