Apple's brand value surpassed the US$100 billion mark to become the most valuable brand in the world. Samsung ranks second.
According to valuation specialist Brand Finance on Wednesday, Apple's brand is now worth $104.7 billion, up 20 percent from last year.
Samsung's brand is worth an estimated $78.8 billion, up 34 percent, narrowing the distance with Apple by $25.9 billion.
The other eight companies in the Top 10 are American. Google comes third with $68.6 billion and Microsoft fourth with $62.8 billion. Verizon, GE, AT&T and Amazon follow.
From Asia, Toyota ranks 11th and China Mobile 13th.
