Korea's Lee Seung-hoon, Kim Cheol-min and Joo Hyung-joon will compete in the men's team pursuit in speed skating at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics on Friday.

The quarterfinals take place at the Adler Arena Skating Center, followed by the semifinals later on Friday and the final on Saturday night.

In team pursuit, two teams chase after each other. There are three skaters in the team, and the two teams start on the midway point on opposite sides of a 400-m rink.

Men skate eight laps and women six laps. The slowest skater's time counts as the team's record.

The event was made an official Olympic sport in the 2006 Turin Olympics.

This is the Korean men's last chance to redeem themselves after a medal-free run so far.
