A 65-year-old South Korean tourist died after being shot by unidentified assailants in Angeles City 80 km north of Manila on Tuesday, the Korean Embassy in the Philippines said Wednesday.
Last April, three Korean expatriates were shot in the tourism and entertainment hotspot, and one of them died on the spot.
The tourist, identified as Huh Tae-suk, was on his way back to a hotel with three other people when they were approached by two men on a motorcycle, one of whom fired several shots at Huh with a gun.
The assailants fled, leaving his belongings untouched.
Huh had been staying in and around Angeles City since arriving in the Philippines last Saturday. He was expected to return home Tuesday.
Philippine police launched an investigation and do not rule out a random attack.
"Huh was killed only a few hours before boarding his plane home," an embassy official said.
