Lee Seung-hoon finished fourth in the men's 10,000-m race at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia on Tuesday.
Lee, who won gold in the men's 10,000 m and silver in 5,000 m four years ago in Vancouver, also placed a disappointing 12th in the 5,000-m event on Feb. 8.
His record of 13:11.68 minutes was less than five second short of the bronze medal winner Bob de Jong's of the Netherlands.
Fellow Dutch skater Sven Kramer, who already won gold in 5,000 m with an Olympic record of 6:10.76 minutes, took silver, while Jorrit Bergsma, also of the Netherlands, shattered Lee's previous Olympic record and won the gold with 12:44.45 minutes.
Dutch skaters have made yet another clean sweep of the podium in speed skating.
Lee will compete in the men's team pursuit on Friday with Kim Cheol-min and Joo Hyung-joon.
