Skaters Eye More Medals

There are high hopes for another medal for Korea as its athletes compete in speed skating and short track skating on Thursday.

Speed skater Lee Sang-hwa seeks to win her second gold medal at the Sochi Winter Games by participating in the women's 1,000-m race. She earned Korea's first gold medal in Sochi, defending her title in the women's 500 m event on Tuesday with a new Olympic record of 74.70 seconds.

Short track skaters are also eyeing gold medals. Shim Suk-hee, Kim A-lang and Park Seung-hi compete in the women's 500 m. Male skaters, who missed out on a medal in the 1,500 m, are pulling themselves together as Lee Han-bin and Shin Da-un prepare for the preliminaries of the 1,000-m race.
