Kazakh Olympians Offered Biggest Cash Incentives

Kazakhstan will pay the largest cash rewards to its medal-winning athletes among participating nations at the Sochi Olympic Games, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday.

The ex-Soviet republic ranked first with financial incentives of US$250,000 per medal, followed by Latvia ($192,800) and Italy ($189,800).

Host Russia took sixth place with $113,200, while Korea was 11th with $56,000.
