Hyundai Motor's new Genesis advertisement has ranked first among car commercials for this year's Super Bowl.
Over 100 billion American viewers watch the Super Bowl each year, and companies need to pay US$4 million for a 30-second ad shown during the National Football League championship game.
USA Today conducted an online poll to vote for consumers' favorite ads among 57 commercials that ran during the Super Bowl on Monday. The U.S. daily said that the Hyundai Genesis ad placed sixth overall and first in the car commercial category.
The ad, which was made by Innocean Worldwide Corp., an affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group, shows how the car's safety features keep a father's son safe while the boy is driving.
For this year's Super Bowl, eight carmakers including Toyota, GM and Volkswagen ran their commercials.
The Budweiser ad ranked first overall in terms of popularity.
