Disney animation "Frozen" has attracted six million spectators in just 18 days since its release in Korea. As of Sunday, the animation had deposed "Kung Fu Panda II" as the biggest animation box office hit here.
"Kung Fu Panda II" drew 5.06 million viewers in 2011.
"Frozen" is a musical animation loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's "Snow Queen."
The combination of fairy tale princesses and music appeals especially to people in their 30s, especially women who feel nostalgic about Disney animations of the 1990s like "Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast," "Aladin," and "Lion King."
According to ticketing site MaxMovie, 47 percent of the people who booked "Frozen" were in their 30s.
