Jewelry Brands Mark Up Prices to Cash In on Weddings

      Luxury jewelry brands are raising their prices ahead of the spring wedding season.

      Bvlgari will charge customers on average 1.8 percent more for certain of its products from Tuesday, but watches and bags will be unaffected.

      The hikes will mostly pertain to items worth between W2 million and W4 million (US$1=W1,073) that target betrothed individuals or couples, an industry insider said. "Prices of some expensive items worth over W20 million will also rise," he added.

      Cartier and Tiffany, also popular among newlyweds, are following suit.

      Luxury jewelry brands regularly raise their prices ahead of the wedding season.
