Hyundai will become the sole sponsor of the Tate Modern art gallery in London until 2025, the carmaker said Tuesday. The 11-year sponsorship contract is the longest-ever for the museum and involves millions of pounds.
The Tate Modern opened in 2000 and welcomed 5.5 million visitors last year. Hyundai will fund the Turbine Hall, a vast exhibition space that spans the entire five-story museum.
Some 60 million people have visited the museum since it opened.
