Footballers Leave for World Cup Training Camp in Brazil

The national football team led by manager Hong Myung-bo left for Brazil on Monday for a long overseas training camp.

After spending a week in Foz do IguaƧu, where the team will be based during the 2014 Brazil World Cup, they will move to Los Angeles and have three friendly matches.

The players will get to test their mettle against Costa Rica on Jan. 25, Mexico on 29 and the U.S. on Feb. 1.

The team consists mainly of K-Leaguers, such as Kim Shin-wook of Ulsan Hyundai and Lee Keun-ho of Sangju Sangmu, but also includes three players from China and Japan: Ha Dae-sung of Beijing Guoan, Kim Jin-su of Albirex Nigata and Kim Min-woo of Sagan Tosu.

Europe-based players like Ki Sung-yueng of Sunderland and Son Heung-min of Bayer Leverkusen are not participating in the camp due to club duties.
