Major Conglomerates See Chinese Economy Improving

The Chinese subsidiaries of major Korean conglomerates are optimistic about China's economic prospects in the first half of this year.

The Federation of Korean Industries said Monday it surveyed 103 Chinese subsidiaries of big Korean businesses and put the Business Survey Index for China during the first six months of this year at 111.7. A reading above 100 means optimists outnumber pessimists about economic prospects.

Chung Bong-ho at FKI said, "As the global economy recovers, China's exports have risen, leading to improving domestic indices for China including domestic consumption and investment."
