Hyundai's Grand i10 Named Car of Year in India

Hyundai Motor's Grand i10 has been named car of the year in India, the automaker said on Friday.

Reporters from the country's nine leading auto magazines pick the winner based on various categories including price and performance. Back in 2008, Hyundai claimed the same honor for its i10.

Launched in September, the Grand i10 compact hatchback is gaining huge popularity in India, with 35,000 units sold in just three months of its release.

In the final round of voting, it beat the Ford EcoSport and Honda Amaze to earn the prestigious award.
