Some 150 cutting-edge yachts from 20 countries will come together in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province for an international boat show from Thursday to Sunday.
By hosting the 7th Yacht and Boat Korea, the city and province hope to lead the marine leisure industry and give small- and medium-sized shipbuilders here a shot in the arm.
On the sidelines of the show, an exhibition will promote export and exchanges such as technology transfer between global market leaders and domestic firms.
A conference on parts and equipment is also planned, while the Australian Marine Industries Association will conduct a seminar with international experts.
Influential figures in the industry will attend the show including Peter Methven, president of the International Council of Marine Industries Association. More than 2,200 buyers from home and abroad are expected to visit the show.
Over the last six years, the show has attracted over 446,000 visitors from home and abroad, and 499 deals worth W81.1 billion were clinched.
