Samsung Lions closer Oh Seung-hwan signed a two-year deal worth 900-million yen, or roughly US$8.9 million, on Friday with the Hanshin Tigers in Japan's professional baseball league.

The deal shatters the record set by Lee Dae-ho a few years ago as the biggest contract for a Korean baseball player in Japan.

The 31-year-old righty will wear the No. 22 jersey. He wore 21 with the Lions but that number has already been taken by Minoru Iwata.
