Japan's first lady Akie Abe walked along the seashore trails of Kyushu Island inspired by Korea's Olle hiking trails on Jeju Island.

She was joined by the Korean consul general in Fukuoka, Park Jin-woong and his wife, and walked for about half an hour while talking with local residents.

Akie Abe said, "It is refreshing to hike down the scenic trails watching the sea and I wish I could come again with my husband." She hopes to "visit Korea next year" if bilateral ties improve, she added.
