The Foreign Ministry has been able to confirm the identities of three Koreans who were among 42 people who died when a Lao Airlines turboprop crashed in the Mekong last Wednesday.
The forensic team at the site identified them from fingerprint scans and dental records, a ministry spokesman said.
The government plans to take the bodies to Korea as soon as possible.
Lao authorities started searching for the flight recorder after detecting its signal near the crash site on Monday. It is expected to take some time until they establish the exact cause of the crash.
