Amy Yang collected her first U.S. LPGA title after eight years on the tour and having competed in 118 competitions by winning the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship in Incheon on Sunday.
After sinking her title-winning birdie putt during the playoffs, she said it took a while for the magnitude of her performance to sink in. She then burst into tears.
Yang, who has spent eight winless seasons on the U.S. LPGA Tour, said she hopes her win serves as a beacon of hope for those of her compatriots on the tour who are also experiencing title droughts.
