The bakery chain Paris Baguette will open an outlet at Singapore's Changi Airport in March, its holding company SPC Group said on Monday. This will make it the first Korean bakery franchise to have a store in a foreign airport.
Spanning 17 million sq.m, Changi Airport ranks one of four major air hubs in Asia along with Incheon, Japan's Narita and Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok. Over 140,000 passengers use it each day on average. Global food franchises such as McDonald and Gong Cha, known for its popular Taiwanese milk tea, also operate stores there.
The Singaporean market can function as a bridgehead to enter other Southeast Asian countries, SPC said.
