"Dinner," a full-length feature shot by Shim Hyun-seok, a senior majoring in film studies at Dongguk University, has been invited to a number of international film festivals.
It was invited to the Montreal International Film Festival in early September as well as the ongoing Vancouver International Film Festival, which wraps up on Oct. 11.
The film, set on the afternoon of the day before the world ends, focuses on a father selling puffed rice on a highway in order to feed his son.
Shim raised W3.25 million through crowdfunding, while the rest of the budget was covered by a grant for independent filmmakers provided by the Korea Film Council. The film was his graduation project.
