A new study suggests that Korea's average monthly wage in 2030 will be the highest in the world.
In its report, accounting giant PricewaterhouseCoopers predicts that the average monthly income of a Korean worker will hit US$5,400 by 2030. Workers in France and Germany will be the second and third best remunerated, respectively.
The estimates were made by analyzing data from the International Labour Organization and the International Monetary Fund, focusing on the labor productivity growth rate and the expected long-term appreciation of currencies.
The study also suggests that the wage gaps between emerging and developed economies will narrow significantly by 2030.
