Renowned novelist Choi In-ho died of salivary gland cancer on Wednesday. He was 68.
Born in Seoul in 1945, Choi started his literary career in 1967 at the age of 22, when he won the Chosun Ilbo's annual literary contest for new writers with a short novel.
He became a prolific and popular writer with over 100 works to his name, some of which sold over a million copies.
Choi did not limit himself to novels but branched out into film, pop music and broadcasting and became one of the icons of 1970s youth culture.
