Hot on the heels of his first flush of success as Korea's new manager, Hong Myung-bo hopes the national team can rack up a second victory in one week when it faces Croatia at Jeonju World Cup Stadium in North Jeolla Province on Wednesday.
Korea beat Haiti 4-1 on Friday but will have its work cut out against the higher-ranked European side. Croatia is ranked world No. 8 by FIFA while the home side is further down the table at 56th.
When the two sides last met, also in a friendly match in London in February, Croatia dominated Korea 4-0.
However, Croatia has omitted big names like Mario Mandžukić of Bayern Munich and Luka Modrić of Real Madrid from the roster. In fact, Manager Igor Štimac has brought just four of his starting 11 due to club obligations and other factors.
On Sunday, Croatia drew 1-1 with Serbia in early European qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.
