The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission will pay up to W1 billion to those who report false information on agricultural, livestock and fishery products from Wednesday to Sept. 27 (US$1=W1,086).
The commission said on Monday that it aims to crack down on trading companies and distributors who violate place of origin rules or otherwise place false information on product labels.
It added that it guarantees informants' privacy and will pay them up to W1 billion, depending on the results of its subsequent investigation.
To issue a report, visit the commission's center in Seodaemun, Seoul or log on to its website at www.acrc.go.kr. Alternatively call 1398, the national number to report civil rights violations.
