LG Electronics unveiled its latest tablet PC on Sunday, "the G Pad 8.3." It is to go on sale in the fourth quarter after a launch at the IFA in Berlin, the world's leading consumer electronics trade show, which opens Friday.
It is LG's second foray into the market after an attempt with the clunky Optimus Pad flopped in 2011. But now the company is confident that the G Pad holds its own against rival products in terms of functions and portability, with a width of 126.5 mm and a weight of 338 g that makes it easy to carry in one hand.
The G Pad is part of LG's premium "G" series of smart devices including the G2 smartphone.
