Samsung Electronics announced on Wednesday that it is launching Korea's first clamshell-style smartphone, the Galaxy Golden, through SK Telecom and KT.
The Android flip phone is equipped with two 3.7-inch screens. When closed, consumers can use the touchscreen on the outside as is the case with regular smartphones, but when opened, it also offers a keypad below the screen so users can conveniently write emails or text messages.
The device is targeted at older customers who find the touchscreen technology bothersome or difficult to use, and it has a simplified interface with larger fonts for greater ease of use.
It will retail for W799,700 (US$1=W1,118).
