The highly-anticipated Korean film "Snowpiercer" opened here on Wednesday after generating much interest around the world for its intriguing plot and stunning cinematography.
It is the first Korean film that will be released in 167 countries, and it had the largest budget of any film in Korean cinematic history at around US$40 million.
Seven years ago, director Bong Joon-ho read a French graphic novel about the last human survivors on a train during a new ice age, and imagined adapting it for film.
The film's leading actors, including Tilda Swinton, came to Seoul early this week to celebrate its Korean premiere, appearing at a press conference and a red-carpet event.
