The foreign and defense ministers of Korea and Australia will meet in Seoul on Thursday.
A government official here said Tuesday Australia is a traditional ally giving "solid support" for Seoul's policies on the Korean Peninsula.
The official added the government hopes to gain Australia’s support for President Park Geun-hye’s project of building trust on the peninsula and promoting peace in the Northeast Asia.
The government has held "2+2" foreign and defense ministers' meetings on and off only with the U.S.
