Petition Seeks to Save Lives of Repatriated N.Koreans

A petition to save nine North Korean young defectors who were taken from Laos to North Korea on May 27 has gained growing support.

Activist group Citizens' Alliance for North Korean Human Rights said that as of Thursday, over 2,000 people had signed the petition launched on June 6 calling for the lives of the nine youngsters to be spared and to stop the forced repatriation of North Koreans from China and parts of Southeast Asia.

The campaign continues until June 20, and the petition will be delivered to President Park Geun-hye, who is due to go on a state visit to China on June 27.
