With her sudden-death playoff win at the Wegmans LPGA Championship on Sunday, Park In-bee, currently the world's top-ranked female golfer, has now claimed both of the majors played so far this year.

Park was tied with Catriona Matthew of Scotland at the end of the final round at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York, as both carded 5-under 283, forcing the playoff. Park seized the victory on the third extra hole with a birdie.

It is Park's third career LPGA major title following those picked up at the 2008 U.S. Women's Open and the Kraft Nabisco Championship this April. By adding the winner's purse of US$337,500 to her pot, she continues to lead the money list with $1,221,827.

Six of her seven victories on the LPGA tour have come in the last 12 months, and she has kept her grip on the world No. 1 ranking for nine consecutive weeks.
