Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry are scheduled to meet in Seoul on Friday, just 10 days after their meeting in Washington.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Cho Tae-yong said North Korea's recent series of threats will be at the top of the agenda.
Other issues include an agreement on revising a bilateral nuclear energy pact that expires in 2014 and fine-tuning the agenda for the upcoming summit between the two countries.
They are expected to discuss these issues behind closed doors for about an hour and brief reporters after the talk.
