China has for the first time sent three military officers to study Korean at the Joint Forces Military University here. In the past, members of the Chinese People's Liberation Army only studied in North Korea.
An event took place to welcome 50 foreign military officers from 20 countries to a Korean-language program at the university on Friday.
For the next 40 weeks, they will learn Korean language, culture and history, and visit places of security concern. The curriculum also teaches students about military operations in South Korea and other issues.
