President Park Geun-hye has pledged to level the playing field for small- and medium-sized businesses, but they aren't starting off on very positive footing.

According to the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business on Tuesday, more than 80 percent of 425 businesses surveyed said they considered domestic demand to be in a slump.

A similar proportion said the global economy is in a crisis.
