The 2013 Geneva Motor Show will be held from March 5 to 17, bringing together an impressive range of luxury sedans and experimental cars.
The 3 Sedan by Qoros, made jointly by China's state-owned Chery Automobile and Israel Corporation, will be unveiled at the show and hit the Chinese and European markets in the second half of this year. China exported 1 million cars mostly to developing countries last year, but it hopes to expand its presence in the global market.
Luxury European automakers will focus on bigger, flashier and faster automobiles. Though car sales in Europe lagged last year at around 12 million -- the lowest in two decades -- luxury brands like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are faring relatively well.
Bentley will introduce its new Flying Spur, and Aston Martin will showcase a high-performance wagon called Bertone Jet 2+2. The special model commemorates the 60th anniversary of cooperation with Italian design firm Bertone, and only one will be made and sold.
Hyundai Motor will reveal the Grand Santa Fe, called Max Cruise in Korea, and a modified version of the ix35, a European model of the Tucson.
Kia Motors will unveil the medium-sized hatchback Cee'd GT and the smaller KED-9, while Ssangyong plans to introduce its medium-sized sports utility vehicle concept Smart Interface Vehicle-1.
The SUV Captur by Renault, which is expected to hit the domestic market by the end of the year, will also be on display.
In its 83rd year, the Geneva Motor Show is one of the world's five major motor shows, and roughly 700,000 are expected to visit the upcoming event.
