Koreans Spent Less on Education in 2012

Koreans are spending less on education due to the slow economy.

According to data released on Sunday by Statistics Korea, households with one or two family members spent 12 percent of their annual consumption on education last year, the lowest figure in six years.

Analysts say a freeze in income, increasing food prices and household debt may have forced families to reduce their spending on education.
