GM Korea on Wednesday unveiled its Chevrolet Trax compact SUV at a launch event on Jeju Island and announced that the model will go on sale next week. The Trax is the first model in its class developed under GM's global collaboration project.
It is 4,245 mm long and 1,775 mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2,555 mm, making it slightly smaller than Hyundai's Tucson. It has a six-speed automatic transmission and comes equipped with a 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine, delivering fuel efficiency of 12.2 km per liter. It costs from W19.40 million (US$1=W1,079) to W22.89 million.

Ankush Arora, GM Korea's vice president of sales, said the model was developed with a "special focus" on the Korean market, adding that it will contribute to increasing the company's market share in Korea.
