A murder and an arson case involving neighbors fighting over noise that left two dead and several injured over the Lunar New Year holiday have prompted the government to seek new regulations against residential noise.

The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, together with the Ministry of Environment, said Wednesday that they will work together to revise relevant regulations.

The government first introduced regulations on residential noise back in 2005, but noise complaints have not subsided.
