Park Jong-woo
Footballer Park Jong-woo will face a disciplinary meeting of the International Olympic Committee to explain his behavior at the 2012 London Olympics after Korea beat Japan to the bronze medal.
Park ran a lap of honor holding up a banner that said "Dokdo Is Our Land," in violation of rules against political demonstrations during the games.
The Korean Olympic Committee on Wednesday said Park will attend the meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland on Monday with KOC officials and both foreign and Korean lawyers. KOC President Park Yong-sung will also attend.
Park, who is currently training with his club in Thailand, will leave for Lausanne on Saturday.
The IOC withheld the bronze medal for Park over the gaffe. In December last year, FIFA decided to ban Park from two international matches and fine him 3,500 Swiss Francs. Based on FIFA's decision, the IOC will decide whether to award him an Olympic bronze medal or not.
